Recycled Photo frame

I made a double-sided quilled photo frame using an old desptop calendar last week. It was very easy to make. Have a look!
This is one side......

The other side.........

I removed the wire which holds the two sides of the calendar together and inserted a long quilling strip into it. To cover up both ends I just added a pretty li'l bow.

Photo Frame with Quilling

I made this frame last weekend.  Actually I have made many flowers and small quilled accents. So I thought of modifying this frame using them.

Earlier it looked like this.

I wasn't too happy with the way it came out with stickers. I guess the quilled one looks better. Wat do u say?

Small Quilled elements

These small elements can be used to make cards, bookmarks, adorn gift boxes, tags, etc. Lookoout for my next post to see how I used them to make bookmarks.

Spiral roses

For the roses, cut out 5 round circles for petals and cut a 2.5 cm circle for the middle. Cut the circle into a spiral as shown. Place the outer end of the spiral into the quilling tool and wind to form the centre. Remove and glue the end. Glue the five circles into an overlapping circle around the centre.
Here's a card I made using these roses and some other elements with quilling. I particularly liked the weaved basket made with flat quills.

Fringed flowers

Each flower is made from 1.5 cm x 21 cm long paper. Fold the strip of paper in half to make a log strip as shown in diagram.Cut the top off the strip of paper at an angle making sure the folded side is on the right. Snip all along the folded edge, the cuts should be very close to each other, stopping at approx 3 quarters of the width of the strip. Cut right across to remove the lower triangle as shown.

Feed the top point i.e.open edge of strip, into the slot of the quilling tool and roll up. Glue the ends.
